About Poonhill Trekking
Nayapul - Poonhill trek is one of the most easily and famous trek in Annapurna area. From Pokhara, we'll travel to the nayapul for the start of this five days trek. In five days we trek through meadows with small village and colourful rhododendron forest to ghorepani, where high mountain peaks reach up above the surrounding hills. The highest point of this trek is 3210m at poonhill and, from where you can see Sunrise, the whole Annapurna range and Dhaulagiri panorama views
Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1350m)
On arrival in the international airport in Kathmandu and transfer to the hotel by our office representative. Overnight at hotel in Kathmandu.
Day 02: Kathmandu Valley Sightseeing .
Bhaktapur City Durbar Square:
As you walk in, you cannot but be overcome by a feeling of inner harmony. Such is the art and architecture and the special layout here. The 15th century Palace of 55 windows, situated to the left as you enter through the city gate, inspires admiration. The National Art Gallery is also situated inside. The palace entrance, Golden Gate that is the entrance to the main courtyard of the palace of 55 windows ,is masterpiece in repousse art .In front of the palace building is a medley of temples of various designs. There are temples like Batsala Temple and the Shiva temple, the replica of Pashupatinath Temple & Nyatapola Temple etc.
Patan Durbar Square
Patan Durbar Square is an enchanting mélange of Palace buildings, artistic courtyards and graceful pagoda temples. Listed as a World Heritage Site, the former Royal Palace complex is the center of Patan’s religious and social life, and houses a museum containing an array of bronze statues and religious monuments. One remarkable monument here is 17th century temple dedicated to the Hindu god Krishna, built entirely of stone.
Day 03: Kathmandu-Pokhara (820m/ 7 hrs drive/25 min fly)
Today an early morning your guide will come to pick you up and transfer to the tourist bus station for your day drive to Pokhara.
Day 04: Pokhara- Birethanti- Tikhedhunga (1577m/ 02 hrs drives and 4 hrs walk)
After taking breakfast at hotel, drive to Nayapul . The driving continues along with the great scenery passing through villages name Naudanda, Kanre, and Lumle all the way to Nayapul. After reaching at Nayapul, our trek begins from the warm sub tropical region, walk follows the Modi River upstream to Birethanti & follows the east bank of Bhurungdi Khola with scenery of waterfall, high green forest and reach at Tikhedhunga . Stay overnight at the teahouses.
Day 05: Tikhedhunga-Ullery-Ghorepani (2780m/ 6 hrs).
After breakfast in Tikhedhunga From Tikhedhunga, the trail crosses a stream and then ascends a steep stone staircase to the large Magar Village at Ulleri. After few hours of long hard climb with several breaks in between reaching at Ulleri village, from here the path is gradual on the winding trail through the cool shade of pine and rhododendron forest, the walk continues with few short ups and downs to the Ghorepani, from here able to see good view of Annapurna Mountain range. Stay overnight at the teahouses.
Day06: Ghorepani-Tadapani (2660m/5 hrs)
Today an early morning your guide will wake you up and take you to the Poon hill (3200m)after about 45 min walk from where you will be able to see good sunrise on the mountain. Poon Hill named after the hill tribe Pun, inhabitants of Ghorepani and surrounding area. From Poon Hill you will see Dolpo, Mt Dhaulagiri, Annapurna including Mt. Machhapuchare (Fish tail and Manslu Himalayan range.
After spending about some times in Poonhill, we come back to Ghorepani, have a hot breakfast, and start walking to Tadapani. From Ghorepani the trail climbs along ridges and through pine and rhododendron forests to Deurali (2960m). We descend to reach Banthanti, before winding our way to Tadapani.
Day07: Tadapani - Ghandruk (1990m/4 hrs).
Our descent brings us to the village of Ghandrung around noon. We will overnight here, to have the afternoon for visiting the Annapurna conservation office and museum, as well take time to explore the village and can see Mt.Annapurna ranges & Machhapuchre (Fishtail), through the forest, creeks and small streams to the Ghandruk village. Ghandruk village is known as a semi-modern village, gateway to Annapurna Sanctuary and Gurung culture. This is one of the biggest towns of this trek. Overnight in Ghandruk.
Day 08: Ghandruck - Pokhara
After enjoying in the Ghandruk Village today descending Pokhara via Birethanti one can see mules loaded with goods en-route. Walking distance is 05 hrs to Nayapool ,from where you are going to finish you trek and drive back to Pokhara. Stay overnight at the hotel.
Day 08: Pokhara-Kathmandu
Day 09: Departure.
